BPC-157
Synthetic peptide derived from a sequence of a protein found in gastric juice. In preclinical models, an influence on angiogenic and tissue-protective signalling pathways has been described. The precise molecular mechanisms of action are not conclusively understood.
Thymosin Alpha-1
Thymosin Alpha-1 is an N-terminally acetylated peptide originally isolated from the thymus. It modulates T-lymphocyte maturation and function and acts on dendritic cells via Toll-like receptors (TLR9 / TLR2). In preclinical and some clinical studies, increased interferon-gamma responses and altered T-cell subpopulations have been reported.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between BPC-157 and Thymosin Alpha-1?
- BPC-157 is classified as "Genezing", while Thymosin Alpha-1 is classified as "Genezing". BPC-157: Synthetic pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) derived from a sequence of a gastric-juice protein. Studied predominantly in animal models on healing and protective processes — controlled human trials are rare and limited in scope. Thymosin Alpha-1: Synthetic 28-amino-acid peptide identical to a naturally occurring thymus peptide. Approved as Zadaxin in more than 30 countries (not US/EU) for hepatitis B treatment and as an immunomodulator. This page contrasts both neutrally and source-based — with no usage or dosing recommendation.
- Which peptide is better supported by science, BPC-157 or Thymosin Alpha-1?
- The highest available evidence level is "Diermodel" for BPC-157 and "Humane RCT" for Thymosin Alpha-1. A higher evidence level means more robust data, but says nothing about suitability for an individual. The full body of evidence is on each peptide's own page.
- What is the legal status of BPC-157 and Thymosin Alpha-1 in Germany and the United States?
- Duitsland: BPC-157 — Niet goedgekeurd, Thymosin Alpha-1 — Niet goedgekeurd. Verenigde Staten: BPC-157 — Alleen onderzoek, Thymosin Alpha-1 — Niet goedgekeurd. These are factual summaries with source and review date on the individual pages.
