Mechanism of action
CagriSema
CagriSema combines two satiety pathways in one weekly injection: the amylin analogue cagrilintide and the GLP-1 agonist semaglutide. Both suppress appetite and food intake — together more than either component alone.
Eloralintide
Eloralintide selectively activates amylin receptors (preferentially AMY1R) and promotes satiety. The approach targets weight loss via the amylin axis, complementary to or independent of GLP-1 agents.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between CagriSema and Eloralintide?
- CagriSema is classified as "Metabolic", while Eloralintide is classified as "Metabolic". CagriSema: CagriSema is a fixed-dose combination of the amylin analogue cagrilintide and the GLP-1 agonist semaglutide (Novo Nordisk), in late-stage development for obesity and type 2 diabetes. Eloralintide: Eloralintide is a selective, long-acting amylin receptor agonist from Eli Lilly for once-weekly subcutaneous use — under investigation for obesity, alone and combined with incretin therapy. This page contrasts both neutrally and source-based — with no usage or dosing recommendation.
- Which peptide is better supported by science, CagriSema or Eloralintide?
- The highest available evidence level is "Human RCT" for CagriSema and "Human RCT" for Eloralintide. A higher evidence level means more robust data, but says nothing about suitability for an individual. The full body of evidence is on each peptide's own page.
- What is the legal status of CagriSema and Eloralintide in Germany and the United States?
- Germany: CagriSema — Unapproved, Eloralintide — Unapproved. United States: CagriSema — Unapproved, Eloralintide — Unapproved. These are factual summaries with source and review date on the individual pages.
