Mechanism of action
Ganirelix
Ganirelix competitively and reversibly binds the pituitary GnRH receptor, rapidly suppressing LH (and, less so, FSH) release — without the initial hormone 'flare' of GnRH agonists.
Glepaglutide
As a GLP-2 receptor agonist, glepaglutide has a trophic effect on the intestinal mucosa, enlarging the absorptive surface and thereby improving intestinal uptake of nutrients and fluid.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between Ganirelix and Glepaglutide?
- Ganirelix is classified as "Research other", while Glepaglutide is classified as "Research other". Ganirelix: Ganirelix is a synthetic decapeptide and GnRH antagonist. In assisted reproduction (IVF) it prevents the premature LH surge during controlled ovarian stimulation. Glepaglutide: Glepaglutide is a long-acting GLP-2 analogue (Zealand Pharma) intended to reduce the need for parenteral support in short bowel syndrome. This page contrasts both neutrally and source-based — with no usage or dosing recommendation.
- Which peptide is better supported by science, Ganirelix or Glepaglutide?
- The highest available evidence level is "Human RCT" for Ganirelix and "Human RCT" for Glepaglutide. A higher evidence level means more robust data, but says nothing about suitability for an individual. The full body of evidence is on each peptide's own page.
- What is the legal status of Ganirelix and Glepaglutide in Germany and the United States?
- Germany: Ganirelix — Prescription, Glepaglutide — Unapproved. United States: Ganirelix — Prescription, Glepaglutide — Unapproved. These are factual summaries with source and review date on the individual pages.
