Guanylate cyclase-C agonists
Guanylate cyclase-C (GC-C) agonists (e.g. linaclotide, plecanatide) activate the GC-C receptor on the luminal gut surface, raising cyclic GMP and fluid secretion into the lumen. Approved for IBS with constipation (IBS-C) and chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC).
